On Wednesday, January 4th, 2012, Gatewood Galbraith passed away due to pulmonary complications. Gatewood was a friend of Take Back Kentucky, a Patriot for Kentucky and the Nation, and more importantly he was a good family man with a caring heart. In his political career he ran for numerous offices most notably for Governor, in which he participated in the latest Gubernatorial election. Agree or disagree with Gatewood you knew where he stood as a principled man willing to fight for what he thought was right. Many of the issues Gatewood advocated for pertained to limited government, fiscal responsibility and civil liberties.
A public memorial for Gatewood will be held Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at the The Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning, 251 West Second Street in Lexington between the hours of 4 and 8 pm. So please come and remember Gatewood Galbraith “The Last Free Man.”
Please feel free to leave your memories of Gatewood.
Eternal rest grant to him O Lord and may the perpetual light shine upon him; may he rest in peace!
There are politicians, and there are servants. Gatewood represented what we all should immulate in a servant, not afraid of speaking the truth, even when it wasn’t politically correct. Gatewood was steadfast in his fight for the important issues that affect the people of Kentucky. And Gatewood was reliable and unwavering in his friendship with you. For over 20 years Gatewood has laid the foundation for legalization of hemp for Kentucky’s agricultural industrial rebirth. Hopefully, the vision and future that Gatewood saw for Kentucky will be realized in his honor by the Kentucky Legislature.
Gatewood, I will miss you, as will my family and friends in Take Back Kentucky.
